

Nira Burstein is an award-winning filmmaker based in New York City. She is one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film & DOC NYC’s 40 Under 40. Her documentary debut Charm Circle won the Audience Award at Sheffield DocFest, is a New York Times Critic’s Pick & had its streaming premiere on the Criterion Channel. Nira’s work has been supported by the Jerome Foundation, Jewish Story Partners and Independent Film Project (now The Gotham.) She has made several scripted short films, including Gangrenous (Nantucket Film Festival) and her latest, Dear Shop Girl premiered at Woodstock Film Festival and continues to play festivals worldwide. She is in post-production on the documentary short, Handymen and in development with her feature narrative debut, a psychosexual thriller entitled She’ll Die For You.
